Noel Gallagher urges brother to go solo: 'Liam won't be out of the music game for long'

Former Oasis bandmates said to be on speaking terms, chatting at football matches

Liam Gallagher's post-Oasis band Beady Eye announced their split in November. In recent months, Noel Gallagher has repeatedly said that he believes Liam should follow him and launch a solo career. 

Speaking in a new interview with Q, Noel says he is on speaking terms with Liam with the pair chatting when their team Manchester City play. "I see him at the football and we talk," Noel says. "Liam won't be out of the music game for long, and he shouldn't be, because there aren't many people like that still left."

However, Noel goes on to label his brother "a cheeky little cunt" who told him he could sing High Flying Birds song 'Everybody's On The Run' better than he ever could. "He said, 'I'd have smashed it.' I was like, 'Yeah, whatever.' Like I said, a cheeky little cunt." 

It was recently reported that Gallagher had revealed that his collaboration album with psychedelic producers Amorphous Androgynous will "never see the light of day" because "the mixes weren't right" and he just "couldn't be arsed" to put out another record.

Ed Sheeran, meanwhile, has responded to Noel's remarks that he couldn't live in a world where Ed Sheeran headlines Wembley, stating: "I can live in it, it's really enjoyable."
